"Food donations typically drop off this time of year, creating a challenge for the families we serve," wrote the Town of West Hartford in the bulletin.

"The Town of West Hartford appreciates the continued support of our community to stock the shelves of the food pantry so we can help our neighbors experiencing food insecurity."

Local officials said the Stop & Shops on Farmington Avenue and Newington Road have donation bins near the exit.

Donations can also be left on the carts in the West Hartford Town Hall Lobby, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For larger donations, the carts may be taken to a vehicle and then returned to the lobby.
