Food Store Robbed At Gunpoint In West Hartford: Police

The suspect was in the store for only about 50 seconds, according to police.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police are investigating after Sam’s Food Store in West Hartford was robbed at gunpoint on Monday night. Police responded to the store, located at 1149 New Britain Avenue, at about 9:30 p.m. on the report of a robbery. The suspect is believed to be a white male about 5-feet, 6-inches tall with black hair and wearing what appeared to be gray-colored sweatpants and a gray-hooded sweatshirt, according to police.

The suspect entered the business and pulled a “larger size revolver” from his waistband and pointed it at the clerk and demanded money, police said. The clerk handed over an undetermined amount of money and the suspect fled. Police said the suspect was in the store for only about 50 seconds.

Similar incidents occurred on April 20 and 23 at Supreme Gas on Park Road, according to police.
