The Green Teahouse Relocating At Blue Back Square In West Hartford
Officials update on when The Green Teahouse will reopen in the new spot and other happenings at Blue Back Square.

WEST HARTFORD, CT —The Green Teahouse is relocating at Blue Back Square and is scheduled to reopen in September when it will rejoin the center’s more than 35 shops and restaurants, including India Restaurant and The Cook and The Bear, both of which opened this year. SPoT Coffee is scheduled to open its first location outside of New York in early 2018 at the center as well, while a new T-Mobile store is slated to open later this fall.
“We’re excited to celebrate The Green Teahouse’s lovely new location,” Robyn Rifkin, Blue Back Square’s general manager, said in a press release. “Along with India Restaurant and The Cook and The Bear, our two most recent restaurants, guests are enjoying these excellent additions to our dining and shopping options.”
The Green Teahouse, which will be located on Isham Road at the center, will soon begin remodeling in a new space between the Cheesecake Factory and Bar Louie. This new location will provide its loyal guests with a selection of fresh, premium-quality teas, tea accessories and gifts that nurture body and spirit, according to the press release. The Cook and The Bear recently opened and is the first restaurant collaboration between local James Beard award-nominee Tyler Anderson of Millwright’s, and pit-barbeque master Jamie McDonald of Bear’s Smokehouse. The casual, full-service restaurant and bar, which seats 102, crafts its delectable menu from local farm-fresh ingredients served a la carte. Guests may also sip on The Cook and The Bear’s extensive selection of craft beers, creative cocktails and fine wines.
Since January, guests have enjoyed India Restaurant’s twist on traditional Indian food, which blends classic flavors with a modern farm-to-table approach focused on small plates. India Restaurant prepares all menu options from scratch and offers innovative drink options including a Delhi martini, Hyderabadi cocktail, Mumbai margarita and more.
Blue Back Square recently announced that SPoT Coffee will open its first shop outside of New York at the center next year. SPoT Coffee, a franchised café, debuts in early 2018 with superb service, signature made-to-order meals and award-winning micro-roasted coffee.
Blue Back Square features more than 35 stores, restaurants and a 6-screen Cinépolis Cinema. Stores and restaurants include West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Barnes & Noble, Charming Charlie, Janie & Jack and REI. Dining options range from The Cheesecake Factory and World of Beer to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Bar Louie.
