Hall High School Runners Capture Invitational Victories

Athletes from Hall and Conard high schools found success at the season's first large invitational meet Saturday.

WINDHAM, CT — Runners from Hall High School captured individual and team championships and several Conard athletes experienced success at the 40th Bob Haddad Windham Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Windham High School.

Junior Jenna Zydanowicz easily won the girls 1 varsity race, completing the 3-mile course in 18:25 for an eight-second victory over runner-up Kylie Raymond of Somers. The Warriors placed five athletes in the top 12, with Francesca Lynch taking fourth, Rose Kitz seventh, Erin McGuinness 11th and Natalie Schaumburge 12th. Their team total of 31 points far outdistanced runner-up Suffield's 108.

Julia Prescott of Conard was 16th in the field of 160 runners.

On the boys' side, Hall was fourth overall in the varsity 1 competition with 127 points, taking second in the large school division with 77 points to Glastonbury's 68. Top Warrior performers were Jackson Grady (19th), Muhammad Ali (23rd) and Jack Wisialowski (25th).

Tyler Remigino was sixth in the boys race for Conard, while Sophonias Dires finished 18th out of 238 competitors.
