Hall/Southington to Play for Division III Hockey Championship
The Warrior-Knights shut out second-seeded WMRP Thursday night to reach the finals.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Michael DiPietro broke a scoreless deadlock with a third-period goal which stood up, providing the Hall/Southington co-op team a 1-0 victory over Wethersfield/Middletown/Rocky Hill/Plainville in the Division III ice hockey semifinals Thursday at the Ingalls Rink at Yale University.
The Warrior-Knights outshot WMRP by a 31-13 margin, with goaltender Zach Monti earning the shutout.
Hall/Southington (12-8-3), seeded sixth, will face top-seeded Woodstock Academy in the championship contest Saturday at 10 a.m. at Yale. Woodstock shut out Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug 5-0 Thursday.

Second-seeded WMRP ended its season with a 19-5 record.
Hall won its only state boys ice hockey championship in 1993, capturing the Division II title. Southington has never won a hockey title.
