Hartford Firefighter Dead, Three Injured Fighting Two-Alarm Fire
A 48-year-old Hartford firefighter was killed and three others injured fighting a two-alarm fire in the city Tuesday.

A 48-year-old Hartford firefighter died in the line of duty fighting a two-alarm fire in the city Tuesday. Three others were injured, one of whom has burns over 10 percent of his body.
The deceased firefighter was not identified by officials out of respect for the family, the Hartford Courant reports.
The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. on Blue Hills Avenue and firefighters fought the blaze throughout the evening.

Gov. Dannel Malloy released a statement regarding the incident.
“Tonight’s tragic events are another reminder of the incredible sacrifice that our state’s first responders make on a daily basis. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the hero we lost tonight and those who were injured in the line of duty in our capital city,” he said.
