Jogger Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Car: West Hartford Police

Police are at the scene and the road is closed during the investigation.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car while jogging on Wednesday evening, according to police.

The West Hartford Police Traffic Division is investigating the accident which occurred near the Trout Brook Drive/Asylum Avenue intersection at about 6:35 p.m.

The car was headed southbound on Trout Brook Drive and the pedestrian was jogging west on Asylum Avenue, according to Capt. Jeffrey Rose.

Witnesses told police that traffic driving south on Trout Brook Drive had a green light. The pedestrian is 30 years old and the driver is 19, according to Rose.

“The intersection of Trout Brook/Asylum will have to be closed for the investigation,” Rose said in a press release. “Motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as Fern Street, Albany Avenue, and North Main Street.”
