Keep ATVs Off The Roads: WeHa PD
The West Hartford Police Department is cracking down on ATVs being illegally ridden on roads and they will impound your vehicle when caught.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police say if you want to ride your all-terrain vehicle illegally on local roads, get ready to have it impounded.
Because they will catch you.
Recently, the West Hartford Police Department impounded an illegally-used ATV at a local gas station, charging the unidentified rider in the process.

Police said the incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 16, when the department's Community Support Unit saw a "large group of off-road all-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes operating recklessly."
The group then pulled into the Cumberland Farms gas station/convenience store at 471 New Park Ave., police said, when one ATV rider went to refuel.

"An officer approached and the operator attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended," wrote the WHPD.
As a result, the ATV rider was charged with various motor vehicle violations, and the ATV was towed and impounded, police said.
"We value the safety of our motorists and pedestrians and are thankful that this reckless act did not result in any injuries," wrote the WHPD. "If you witness similar activity, please notify the police department immediately."
