The Connecticut Affiliate of Susan G. Komen is encouraging the children of Connecticut to get involved in their local Race for the Cure. They are calling for school aged children to participate in their Kids for the Cure t-shirt design contest, sponsored by Cigna. Submissions are due to Komen Connecticut by April 14th.
All designs submitted will be posted on the organizations’ Facebook page, as well as displayed in the kid’s area at the Race in Bushnell Park. The winner of the contest will have their design printed on the back of the children’s t-shirts at the Race for the Cure in Hartford on June 7th.
Each year, Komen Connecticut plans several activities for children to do on Race Day including a Kids’ fun run, face painting, arts and crafts and many other activities. “Every year we try to get even more kids involved with the Race for the Cure,” says Anne Morris, CEO of Komen Connecticut. “Reaching out to children through our t-shirt design contest is a great way to teach children about helping the community as well as encourage artistic creativity.”
