Komen Connecticut is proud to announce the winner of the Cigna Kids for the Cure T-shirt design contest for the Race for the Cure. The winning design will be featured on the back of the children’s t-shirts at the Race for the Cure in Hartford on June 7th and posted on Komen Connecticut’s Facebook page.
Thirteen year old McKenna Cutler of Avon, is this year’s contest winner. McKenna is an 8th grader at Avon Middle School. Her drawing is an inspiration to those battling breast cancer.
“My inspiration for the design was to embody the strength that a woman with breast cancer has,” said McKenna. “I’ve participated in the Race for the last few years after my friend’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. My hope is to portray her, and all survivors’ strength.”
