Friday morning’s commute
It’s likely to continue to snow, lightly, until 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Up to an additional inch of new snow accumulation is expected.
The total accumulation could be 2 to 3 inches. While the snow is considered to be light, the morning commute could be tricky and please give yourself extra time in the morning.
Patch will be watching for school delays in the morning.
Freezing cold Friday night
Wind chills may reach 15 to 20 degrees below zero! Please take all necessary precautions if you’re going to be out at night.
Sunday’s snow chance
The National Weather Service states in its Hazardous Weather Outlook that “another storm may bring accumulating snow to the region, however the track of this low remains in question … low confidence at this time.”
The snow, if it happens, would arrive late Sunday and into Monday.
WFSB Meteorologist Scott Haney cautioned Thursday into Friday’s light snow event could complicate Friday’s morning commute.
And concerning Sunday’s snow chance, Haney says, “Light snow is possible before the day is over. While a major snowstorm is possible Sunday night and Monday, recent information from some of our trusted computer guidance models suggests otherwise.”
Still, Haney said the storm needs to be watched closely.
Saturday’s weather
It will be dry and sunny on Saturday, that is the good news, but it’s going to be freezing with temperatures struggling to reach 20 degrees with wind gusts up to 35 mph.
