Man Charged With Waving Gun in Road Rage Incident, West Hartford PD
Police said the late-night incident started in Simsbury and ended on a West Hartford street late Wednesday night.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — A 53-year-old West Hartford resident was charged for what police said was his role in a late-night road rage incident that started in Simsbury and ended in West Hartford Wednesday night.
West Hartford police have charged Christopher Rung, 53, of 43 Lemay St., West Hartford, with: second-degree assault with a firearm; first-degree threatening; reckless endangerment; first degree criminal mischief; and breach of peace.
Police said Rung was held on a $250,000 bond pending his arraignment in Hartford Superior Court on Thursday.

According to West Hartford police, a motorist came into the West Hartford Police Department at 11:46 p.m. Wednesday to report he was the victim of a road rage incident approximately two hours prior, which ended, he said, with the suspect pointing a firearm at him.
A subsequent police investigation revealed the incident began in Simsbury, where the suspect cut in front of the victim while driving aggressively, police said.

According to the WHPD, the victim followed the suspect, ultimately ending at 43 Lemay St. in West Hartford.
Police said the suspect then exited his vehicle with a handgun.
The suspect then walked up to the victim's vehicle, reached inside of the vehicle, pointed the handgun and threatened to kill the victim, police said.
The suspect then struck the victim with the firearm, according to police, and there was no discharge of the firearm and only minor injuries reported by the victim.
According to police, the victim then fled the area when the suspect removed the gun from the passenger side window and, later, reported the incident to West Hartford police.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident at 43 Lemay St. and the firearm was seized by officers, police said in a statement Thursday afternoon.
