The Mercy Community Celebrates Old Blue Eyes' 100th, Sisters of Mercy's 184th Birthdays at Once

Musical Group CabareT to Perform Free Sinatra Tribute Show in Saint Mary Home Auditorium December 11 in Honor of Mercy Foundation Day

WEST HARTFORD, Conn.— (November 24, 2015)—The Mercy Community, West Hartford’s premier Continuing Care Retirement Community, will host a musical performance in celebration of what would have been the late Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday on Friday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. in Saint Mary Home’s Auditorium at 2021 Albany Ave.

During their nostalgic and engaging show entitled “His Way: A 100th Birthday Tribute to Frank Sinatra,” local music trio CabareT will serenade residents, clients, and members of our local community with selections from the Great American Songbook – a collection to which Sinatra contributed and brought tremendous popularity.

The concert is planned in honor of The Sisters of Mercy’s Foundation day; on December 12, 1831, the order’s foundress Catherine McAuley along with Mary Ann Doyle and Elizabeth Harley professed their vows as the first Religious Sisters of Mercy, committing their lives to serving the poor, sick, and uneducated.

CabareT features vocalists Sheri Ziccardi and Michael Cartwright and pianist Paul Feyer. All three musicians have experience performing in local and regional musical theatre and concert settings. In addition to enjoying the music itself, guests can look forward to stories about “Old Blue Eyes” in between songs.

“We have been proud to present CabareT on several occasions,” said Christine M. Looby, director of community relations for The Mercy Community. “To have these performers return with such a beloved repertoire on an evening that is so meaningful to the Sisters and to our community is a thrilling way for us to open the holiday season.”
