'Miss Amazing' Event In WeHa To Showcase Special Talents

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A special event will take place in West Hartford Saturday, April 6, one that promises to provide tear-inducing memories for both participants and spectators.

Connecticut Miss Amazing is hosting its 2024 Amplify event, set to take place Saturday at the Mandell Jewish Community Center (JCC) in West Hartford, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

It will take place at 2 p.m. at the site.

Amplify is a highlight in Connecticut Miss Amazing's calendar, bringing together participants, families, supporters, and the community to shine a spotlight on the abilities and strength of girls and young women with disabilities.

Connecticut Miss Amazing is a local affiliate of the Miss Amazing organization, which provides opportunities for girls and young women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem through participation in pageant-style events.

"We are excited to bring Amplify back to the community for another year. It's a day filled with inspiration, courage, and unforgettable moments,” said Monica Mordowanec, state director of Connecticut Miss Amazing.

“We believe that every person deserves the chance to be heard, seen, and celebrated, and Amplify is our way of amplifying the voices and talents of girls and young women with disabilities.”

The event will feature a passion presentation showcase where participants will have the opportunity to showcase their unique abilities and talents on stage.

From singing and dancing to discussions on pandas and more, the Amplify stage will be a platform for participants to shine and inspire others.

Additionally, Amplify will host workshops and activities designed to empower and educate participants on various aspects of inclusion, self-advocacy, and personal growth.

Connecticut Miss Amazing invites the entire community to join participants "for this unforgettable day."

Anyone who knows a girl or woman with a disability is being asked to encouraged them to be part of "this truly amazing event," wrote organizers.
