New England Urgent Care Celebrates 7 Years this Valentine's Day
New England Urgent Care celebrates with free flu vaccines to the first seven patients (age 4 to 64) on Valentine's Day
In 2010, Dr. Michel Gutman — an Emergency Medicine Physician — and his wife Yahel Gutman — an Emergency Medicine Registered Nurse — had a vision to open an urgent care, but not just any urgent care. “Our vision was to offer caring, ER-quality medical services at a significantly lower cost and faster response than hospital Emergency Departments,” explains New England Urgent Care Co-founder and Medical Director Michael Gutman, MD, Ph.D., FACEP.
Because both had extensive Hospital Emergency Department experience they envisioned a practice that would provide ER-quality medical care for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses to patients of all ages including newborns and the elderly.
On February 14, 2011 the Gutmans opened New England Urgent Care in West Hartford center. They received accreditation from Urgent Care Associates of America, which means New England Urgent Care has the training and on-site equipment including x-rays, blood lab, EKG, respiratory and pharmacy to treat patients for a broader range of illnesses and injuries than non-Certified walk-ins.

“Seven years later, our vision has not changed,” added Co-founder Yahel Gutman, RN, BSN, YTT-200H, and Clinical Director.
What has changed is New England Urgent Care has grown to four clinics located in Bristol, Enfield, Manchester along with its flagship location in West Hartford. Responding to patient requests, the Gutmans have also opened a Primary Care office at the beginning of 2018. It is located next door to its urgent care practice in Enfield.
