New Legislation Could Change Town’s Rules on Food Trucks in West Hartford

Upcoming legislation could change the town's regulations on food trucks, leaving the possibility of a future food truck park open.

WEST HARTFORD, CT - Town officials are looking into a 27-page proposed ordinance that could change West Hartford’s stance on food trucks, as reported by the Hartford Courant.

Current town legislation rules that food truck vendors are not allowed on right-of-way streets, the Hartford Courant reported. The new ordinance has been proposed by West Hartford resident Tate Norden, 31, who runs the Iron & Grain, Co. food truck.

The proposal includes language that would allow a food truck park to be built in town that could hold five trucks, according to the Hartford Courant. Food trucks could start setting up along New Park Avenue as soon as this summer if the proposed ordinance is adopted this spring.
