New Officers Sworn In To West Hartford Police Department

The West Hartford Police Department welcomed three new officers to the force this week.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Police Department welcomed three new officers to the force this week. The three officers, who started the police academy on Aug. 3, are pictured being sworn in at the Town Clerk’s Office. Read more from the West Hartford Police Department below:

Steven J. Dickman (at left) graduated from W.F. Kaynor Technical High School 2014. Off. Dickman continued his education and obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University in 2017. Before being hired, Off. Dickman worked fulltime as a skilled laborer for LaMontagne Construction Company.

Victoria Markow graduated from New Britain High School in 2010 and went on to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Studies in 2014. Off. Markow served as a 1st Lt. in the US Army assigned to the military police unit at Fort Campbell (KY). While serving in the US Army she earned a Master’s Degree in criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati.

Zachary Kaesmann graduated from Trumbull High School in 2014 and the University of New Haven in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Fire Science. Off. Kaesmann recently worked as an EMT for American Medical Response in Bridgeport. He is a Volunteer Firefighter with the Trumbull Fire Department and a Combat Medic Specialist with the 1st Battalion 102 Infantry Regiment of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
