Our Children, Our Community: A Conversation on Supporting Young Children in West Hartford

The event, featuring a presentation by Dr. Jessica Goldstein, will be held April 20.

Great by 8 will host Our Children, Our Community — a conversation on supporting young children in West Hartford, on April 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Noah Webster Library.

Last year, recognizing the need for data on young children in the community to help direct both practical initiatives and community-wide policy, Great by 8 and the West Hartford Public Schools partnered with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to bring the Early Development Instrument (EDI) to West Hartford.

The EDI is a tool that provides population-level data on what kindergartners know and can do, and has been used in more than 40 communities in the United States and extensively internationally.
