Pistol Whip Suspect Extradited To WeHa To Face Charges: Police
The 27-year-old Hartford man is accused of violently pistol-whipping a person last month in a West Hartford shopping plaza parking lot.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man charged in connection with a violent pistol-whipping incident in West Hartford is back in Connecticut to face his charged, police said.
According to the West Hartford Police Department Tuesday, WHPD detectives officially took Hartford resident Edwin Franqui, 27, into police custody on Oct. 10 in California.
Franqui was nabbed in Los Angeles last month and charged in connection with the Sept. 10 pistol-whip incident at 977 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, at a shopping plaza parking lot.

Reportedly, a mail victim was struck in the head by a gun and was bleeding at 11 S. Main St. nearby.
Franqui has been charged with second-degree assault with a firearm; second-degree breach of peace; and reckless driving.

Police Tuesday said Franqui is still being held on $5 million bond and remains in custody in Connecticut.
