Renbrook School Welcomes Fidelco Guide Dogs for Fundraiser
Renbrook School 9th grader and Burlington resident, Aubrey B., is officially a Fidelco Puppy Raiser! Volunteers like Aubrey take pups at about eight weeks old, love and care for them, participate in weekly activities at the Fidelco training center and when the pups are approximately 14 months old, return them to Fidelco for formal guide dog training. Way to go Aubrey!'
Aubrey's commitment to raising a Fidelco puppy dovetail nicely with the 7th grade's scientific study of people's strong connection with dogs (and vice versa!). The "Dog Unit" culminates with a fundraiser for Fidelco, and during the unit the students meet Fidelco representatives, a master dog trainer, therapy dogs, and they can bring in their own family dog, as well! And, of course, Aubrey's puppy "Bree," will be present at the fundraiser!
