SBS' 2014 Snowflake Ball

The Snowflake Ball was a big hit Friday, January 31, with Saint Brigid School's (SBS) students and faculty.

Everyone came dressed in their best Sunday clothes. Boys in dress pants, ties, argyle sweaters, and no sneakers; while all the girls wore beautiful frilly dresses and their best shiny shoes.

Not to be outdone, the faculty wore their best of their best from elegant lace to shimmering satin.

To cap off the day, every one filed into the gym to learn western style line - dancing.

Well, Ms . Laura Rugar or Ms. Laura (as she likes to be called) and her daughter Brittany, instructors at Alyce Carella Dance Center, graciously led the class.

It was so much fun to learn and watch a gymnasium full of people trying to learn line-dancing. Students were wiggling to the left and right as they as tried to stay in straight lines led by SBS' teachers, while the teachers tried to follow Ms. Laura's and Brittany's fancy footwork.

Trying to talk and keep up with the instructors Principal Shevon Hickey said, "Coming together as a community was simply a perfect way celebrate the end Catholic Schools' Month."

"As you can see - it's the wonderful way to end the day," stated Hickey before she twirled off to the left.

Alyce Carella Dance Center is located at 1153 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford donated their time and unlimited energy to teach SBS students line-dancing.
