Subway Robbed In West Hartford

Police say the suspect implied he had a gun during the robbery.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police are investigating after a Subway in West Hartford was robbed Sunday morning by a man who implied he had a gun. At about 10:25 a.m. on Aug. 12, police responded to the Subway located at 450 New Park Avenue on the report of a robbery.

Witnesses told police that a black man wearing dark-colored clothing and a dark baseball cap entered the store and confronted the employee next to the cash register. The suspect held a hand in his pants pocket and ordered the employee to open the register, according to police.

Police said that although “no firearm was visible, the suspect's mannerisms, body language, and words led the employee to believe that he was in possession of a firearm.”
