Summer Improv Master Classes at Playhouse on Park

WEST HARTFORD, CT- This summer, Playhouse on Park is offering three master classes that focus on improvisational theatre. These classes will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 10 pm. The first class (The Start of the Scene) will be held July 15th. The second class (Master Monologues) will be held July 22nd. The final class (Scenes, Scenes, Scenes) will be held July 29th.

The Start of the Scene will teach students how to connect at the beginning of a scene in order to build a strong foundation. Master Monologues will focus on learning to tell engaging monologues in character or from personal stories. Scenes, Scenes, Scenes will explore multiple ways to connect with a scene partner. The instructor for these classes is Claire Zick. Ms. Zick was an ensemble member of Unexpected Productions (Seattle’s first and most reputable improvisational theater company), and has studied improvisation at Magnet Theater and UCB Theatre.

These classes are for students ages 18 and up. A $25 registration fee is required for each class. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are welcome to attend all three classes, or choose just one or two.
