UPDATE: South Windsor Police Determine Relationships Between Suspect, Stabbing Victims
A West Hartford man is one of the victims and is listed in critical condition.

South Windsor police have determined that William Brewster and the woman he is accused of stabbing, Dianihtza Rivera-Soto, 21, have a child together. The other victim, Frederick Hazard, 19, of West Hartford, is said to be Brewster’s cousin, according to police. Hazard was listed in critical condition this morning.
It is not believed that either of the victims currently lives in the Speilman Road home with Brewster, according to police.

Police also said that the child was not present at the time of the stabbings or otherwise involved in the event.
Police will return to Hartford Hospital on Thursday and attempt to further interview each of the victims to piece together more of what happened on Tuesday night.

South Windsor police and the Connecticut State Police major crime squad cleared the scene on Speilman Road at about 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Brewster has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault and will be presented in Manchester Superior Court Thursday morning.

The suspect in Tuesday’s late-night violent double stabbing in South Windsor has been released from the hospital, is in police custody and has been officially charged from the crimes.
Police have charged William Brewster, 20, of 108 Speillman Road in South Windsor, with two counts of first-degree assault. He is being held on a $600,000 bond and is due in court on Thursday.
Brewster, who was treated at Manchester Hospital for an arm laceration, is the suspect in the stabbing of Frederick Hazard, 19, of West Hartford, and Dianihtza Rivera-Soto, 21, of Hartford. Both are being treated at Hartford Hospital and Hazard is listed in critical condition but was able to speak briefly with investigators, according to police.
The specific condition of the Rivera-Soto was unknown. Police said both suffered multiple stab wounds.
Brewster surrendered immediately upon seeing Manchester police officers early this morning after he was seen emerging from a wooded area wearing only a towel on his waist on Chapel Road near Burnham Street Extension.
South Windsor police responded to the Irving service station on John Fitch Blvd. at about 11:30 p.m. and found Hazard suffering from multiple stab wounds. Rivera-Soto was found suffering from stab wounds in the roadway at the intersection of John Fitch Blvd and I-291.
Brewster was identified as a person of interest in the assault, which occurred at Speilman Road address where he lives.
South Windsor police began receiving calls at about 6:30 a.m. this morning about a black male with no shirt walking on Burnham Street on the I-291 overpass.
Another caller reported a man fitting the same description on Chapel Road near Clark Street heading toward Hartford Distributors on Chapel Road in Manchester, according to police.
Manchester and South Windsor police officers responded to the area and Brewster was apprehended.
Police obtained a police obtained a search and seizure warrant overnight for the home at 108 Speillman Road. Detectives from the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad are documenting the extensive crime scene and collecting evidence.
