Truck Driver Ran Light In Violent Crash With Bus: West Hartford Police
The March 1 crash injured the driver of the bus, with the driver of the truck cited by police.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police Wednesday said the driver of a tractor trailer was responsible for the violent collision March 1 between the truck and a Ct Transit bus.
The WHPD said the operator of the tractor trailer, Akeshpal Singh, 58, of Fresno, Calif., was at fault and cited for failure to obey a traffic control signal. He was not injured.
According to police, Singh's truck was hit by a CT Transit bus being driven by a 54-year-old East Hartford resident, Donald Jones, who police said "did not contribute to the cause of the collision."

According to West Hartford police, officers arrived to the busy intersection at about 5:06 a.m. that morning following reports of a major collision there.
When police arrived, they saw that a transit bus had plowed into a tractor trailer, according to the WHPD.
Photographs from the accident scene paint a clear picture of just how lucky the driver was to survive.
According to police images from the scene, the front of the bus is completely destroyed after it smashed into the trailer portion of the tractor trailer.
The operator and lone occupant of the tractor trailer reported no injuries, police said.
