USJ Nursing Professor Earns Major Honor

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford resident and professor of nursing at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford was recently honored by a major nursing organization.
Karen Myrick has been accepted into the prestigious Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) program.

Myrick, a resident of West Hartford and professor at USJ, is one of 33 American Association of Nurse Practitioners members who will be inducted as fellows and recognized for their outstanding achievements and exemplary service.
The event will take place June 27 at the 2024 AANP National Conference in Nashville, Tenn.

The new fellows will join an elite and diverse group of 942 NPs who have made — and who continue to make — a positive and profound impact on national and global health.
“I am incredibly honored to be inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners this year.,” said Myrick. “I am humbled to join this elite group of nurse practitioners who have a significant impact on the nurse practitioner profession.”
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners is the largest professional membership organization for nurse practitioners.
