WATCH: Farmington Teen Charged With Going 110 MPH in West Hartford
The 18-year-old was clocked going 110 mph in a 40 mph zone over the weekend, police said.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — At a time where the West Hartford Police Department is working front and center against dangerous driving on local roads, the image it released Monday is sobering.
The WHPD released police car dashcam footage of what it looks like when a car goes 110 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone.
And, police said, they have charged an 18-year-old suspect in connection with the scary footage.

Police said they've charged Colin Coyle, 18, of the Unionville section of Farmington, with reckless driving and speeding.
According to the WHPD, the department's traffic division was conducting speed enforcement on Albany Avenue when it saw a red Chevrolet Camaro being driving by Coyle traveling east near Mountain Road "at a high rate of speed."

Police said Coyle’s vehicle was towed and he will be due in Hartford Superior court later this month.
"The traffic division routinely conducts speed enforcement throughout town," wrote the WHPD. "Traveling at extreme speeds like this endangers everyone on the roadways. Please be considerate as to not jeopardize other motorists, pedestrians or cyclists."
This comes as West Hartford has begun a massive push aiming to curb dangerous driving in town, part of a massive traffic and pedestrian safety initiative that was kickstarted after five people were killed in multiple incidents on West Hartford roads last December.
