WeHa Group Seeks Children's Literacy Volunteers In Greater Hartford
The deadline to register is Sunday, Jan. 14, with a special training session starting Tuesday, Jan. 16.
WEST HARTFORD, CT —A local initiative to improve children's literacy is looking for volunteers to help in its cause.
Children's Reading Partners is seeking volunteers for its "Elementary Express" program, which helps local elementary school students build literacy skills through one-on-one mentoring during the school year.
This year, the program will operate in Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, and West Hartford through June.

Participation in a volunteer training session is required and will be held on Tuesday, January 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in person at the Community Services Building, 333 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.
If inclement weather is predicted, the training will be held via Zoom.
