WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police are investigating a late-night shooting in town on Halloween that, ultimately, didn't result in any injuries, but damaged a building and vehicle.

According to the West Hartford Police Department Wednesday afternoon, officers were called to Elmhurst Circle on Halloween night at about 11:01 p.m. for a report of a person who heard "a series of 'pops' nearby."

Upon arrival, officers spoke with multiple people in the area, some of whom reported the “pops” sounded consistent with gunfire, according to the WHPD.

Police said there was evidence of gunfire located on the scene.

The WHPD's Detective Division assumed control of the investigation.

According to police, two holes caused by gunfire were located, one into an unoccupied parked vehicle and one into an occupied building no reported injuries.

"This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the general public at this time," wrote the WHPD Wednesday, adding the investigation continues
