WeHa Housing Officials Seek Applicants For Subsidized Units

The West Hartford Housing Authority will accept pre-applications for subsidized housing from Oct. 2-12.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local housing officials are seeking applications from qualified people for subsidized housing units they manage.

The West Hartford Housing Authority is accepting preliminary applications for the Housing Choice Voucher between Monday, Oct. 2, and Tuesday, Oct. 12, via its https://portals.westhartfordha.org/ portal.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federally funded program that subsidizes decent, safe and sanitary housing for low-income persons.

Applicants must meet all U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and WHHA income and eligibility guidelines.

For those who are disabled and require assistance applying, the housing authority will have staff and volunteers available only on Wednesday, Oct. 4, and Monday, Oct. 11, between 9 a.m. to noon in Room 306 at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St.

This assistance is only for individuals who require a reasonable accommodation.

The housing authority will use a random-draw lottery System to select 1,000 pre-applications.

Those chosen in the lottery will be notified by email and/or mail no later than Oct. 31.
