West Hartford Among Top 25 Most 'Livable' Places In Northeast: Website
Town officials are pleased with the ranking, which cites West Hartford's schools, history and recreation offerings.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Town officials are pleased with where West Hartford stands after a municipal rankings website placed the town among the top 25 most livable places in the northeast.
Livability.com ranks towns in the country based on geographic areas, as well as on a national basis, and it is often used by folks looking to relocate to other parts of the country.
According to the website, it takes in statistics on more than 50 different characteristics and, once the numbers are crunched, it ranks about 2,300 total cities and towns nationally.

And, as far as the northeast is concerned, West Hartford is 16th best place to live in the northeast, right behind Fair Lawn, N.J., and just ahead of Albany, N.Y.
The ranking caught the attention of West Hartford officials, who posted about it on the town's Facebook page Tuesday.

"The new data-driven list ranks the best small to mid-sized cities to live, work and visit in the northeast," wrote the town on social media.
"The Top 25 Best Places to Live in the Northeast broadly reflects the findings that affordability and local amenities are top priorities for people looking to relocate."
The website cited West Hartford's history, school system, it's "quaint downtown" and its passive recreation offerings as making the town an especially desirable place to live.
For the record, the number one city/municipality in the northeast was Pittsburgh, Pa.
