West Hartford Car Seat Clinics May Save Your Child's Life

The West Hartford school system and police department are hosting two car-seat safety clinics this week at local schools.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police and the school system this week are hosting two special events designed to address how folks transport their most precious cargo — their children.

National Child Passenger Safety Week is this week, Sept. 15-21, with the West Hartford Police Department hosting two car seat checkup events.

This is where parents can work with a certified car seat technician to learn how to install their car seat correctly.

The clinics are:

• Wednesday, Sept. 18, Aiken Elementary School, 212 King Philip Drive, West Hartford, 9 a.m. to noon.

• Thursday, Sept. 19, Wolcott Elementary School, 71 Wolcott Road, West Hartford, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition, those requiring a child car seat but are struggling financially can contact the West Hartford School System's home-to-school coordinator, Amanda Goeller, for help.
