The schools collected an overall total number of nearly 3,000 pounds of food to donate. We are so grateful to all of the families, students, schools and volunteers who helped stock the shelves for our WH neighbors in need.
ShopRite was a wonderful sponsor last year with a large donation of canned foods. We are grateful to ShopRite for their continued support this spring with a monetary donation given directly to the WH Food Pantry.

The West Hartford Food Pantry shelves run low each year after the winter holidays. The Town-Wide Food Drive began as a way to help replenish those shelves with much-needed food for West Hartford residents.
The West Hartford Food Pantry serves more than 800 households right here in West Hartford.
The spring and summer months are a more difficult time for many of those families as the students can no longer eat breakfasts and lunches at their schools. These town-wide food drives have helped replenish the food pantry shelves for the upcoming summer months.
The spring and summer months are a time when the WH Food Pantry also receives fewer donations and thus have emptier shelves. Any and all unexpired food donations are gratefully appreciated. The most needed items at this time include rice, boxed spaghetti, sauce, canned fruit, canned ravioli, and baked beans.
