West Hartford Field Hockey League Announces Scholarship Winners
Each year, West Hartford Field Hockey awards scholarships.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The West Hartford Field Hockey League Friday announced the recipients for its annual Leigh Kumpa Scholarship.
The 2022 awardees are:
- First Place - Brooke Martindale, a senior at Hall High School
- Second Place Tie - Ellie Soucy, a senior at Conard High School, and Sarah Gallagher, a senior at Conard High School
This year, the scholarship committee reviewed a record number of strong submissions and felt that each awardee has proven her ability to emulate the ideals and philosophy of the league: specifically sportsmanship, being a team player, and showing respect for her coach, the opposing team and officials. In addition, applicants must also have played in the league and currently be playing field hockey at the high school level, have earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, and performed volunteer work in the community.
