West Hartford Fire Department to Help Provide Smoke Alarms for the Hearing Impaired
The fire department recently received two grants for the fire prevention division.

With the aid of a recent grant, the West Hartford Fire Department will help provide special smoke alarms for the hearing impaired.
The department’s Fire Prevention Division was notified last week that it was the recipient of two grants.
The first grant of $2,500 from FM Global is to provide smoke alarms to the hearing impaired. Under this program, the fire department is partnering with Pfau’s Hardware to purchase the special smoke alarms at cost.

The second grant from the Fair Plan is to purchase special high intensity flashlights for fire inspections and investigations.
