West Hartford 'Incident' Ends With No Injuries/Arrests: WHPD
A welfare check Wednesday resulted in a nearly day-long situation that resulted in a road closure and a heavy responder presence.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — A nearly day-long incident in West Hartford that closed a local road for much of Wednesday ended without injury and without any charges.
The West Hartford Police Department said at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday that an "incident" on Crocker Avenue that day "has been safely resolved" and pedestrian/motorist traffic returned to normal.
WHPD officials didn't disclose much specific information about what happened, but the "incident" arose after officers were asked to conduct a welfare check of a person inside a residence on that street.

"Based on the nature of the complaint, as well as information gathered during the initial investigation, WHPD personnel are staging outside of the residence," wrote the WHPD early Wednesday afternoon.
That resulted in Crocker Road being closed between Trout Brook Drive and South Quaker Lane for much of the day Wednesday, with motorists detoured around the area.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
"This remains an active investigation, and no criminal charges have been filed at this time," wrote the WHPD in a final update Wednesday night.
"No one involved sustained any injuries, and there was no threat to the public."
