West Hartford Police: Home Invasion Report Unfounded
West Hartford police said the incident was reported as a home invasion, but it wasn't.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police issued a "crime alert" for Hillcrest Avenue late Thursday morning.
Initially, police said they were investigating was was reported as a "home invasion," but later in the day, the West Hartford Police Department said it wasn't.
"We are aware that there were initial reports of this incident being a home invasion," police wrote on FaceBook Thursday. "We can confirm that this was NOT a home invasion."

According to the alert, posted at about 11:45 a.m. on the department's Facebook page, the "incident" happened at 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Hillcrest Avenue.
Police did assure there was no threat to the public and there were no reported injuries, adding the incident "appears to be isolated."

Officers, however, did not divulge the nature of the "incident" in the initial post, though police later said what was initially reported as a "home invasion" was not, actually, one.
"We are still actively investigating this incident," police said in the post.
