West Hartford Launches Senior Citizen Support Group To Combat Loneliness
West Hartford Social Services is offering a new six-week support group for seniors aimed at fostering social connections.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford Social Services has announced a new six-week support group for residents aged 60 and older.
The program, named "Circle of Friends," aims to help seniors combat loneliness and build new connections within the community.
Participants are invited to join if they are seeking meaningful conversations and new friendships.

The group will offer practical solutions and strategies to improve social connections and emotional well-being.
Each weekly session will feature a different theme, incorporating gentle walks, creative activities, mindfulness exercises, games, and laughter.

The initiative seeks to provide a supportive environment for seniors who may be feeling isolated or are new to West Hartford.
Meetings will take place at West Hartford Town Hall on Mondays, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The scheduled dates for the sessions are March 16, March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13, and April 20.
These sessions are designed to create a consistent opportunity for interaction and engagement among participants.
West Hartford Social Services also noted that transportation assistance is available for those who require it.
