QU Communications' Hall Of Fame Inducts West Hartford Resident

The 2004 QU grad works as communications head of Otis Elevator.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A local resident has recently been inducted into Quinnipiac University’s School of Communications second Hall of Fame class.

Ray Hernandez, a 2004 QU graduate and West Hartford resident is the director of communications at Otis Elevator and he was inducted last month.

Other honorees were Rich Barry ’89, former vice president at Nickelodeon/Viacom; Meredith Klein ’05, head of consumer and product communications at Pinterest; and Bruce Taylor ’81, former director of photography at ESPN.

Hernandez, of West Hartford, is director of public relations and government affairs at Otis Elevator.

He has held roles of increasing global responsibility throughout his career including corporate communications, public relations, digital/content marketing and employee/executive communications.

Hernandez remains involved with the Quinnipiac community through speaking engagements and student mentoring.

He also served as a professional mentor for QU teams participating in the 2016 PRSSA Bateman Competition.

“These four inductees are more than worthy of induction and serve as models for our current students,” said Chris Roush, dean of the school of communications. “They have all taken what they learned at Quinnipiac and thrived in the communications world as industry leaders.”

Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational institution in Hamden.
