West Hartford Police Make Arrest In Car Break-Ins Case
Police say more arrests are expected in connection to the rash of overnight car burglaries that occurred in town this week.
West Hartford Police have arrested a 19-year-old Hartford resident in connection to a rash of overnight car burglaries that occurred earlier in the week and say more arrests are expected.
West Hartford Police are working with the Bloomfield Police Department to identify another four to five suspects that may be involved with crimes in both towns, according to Lt. Ted Stoneburner.
West Hartford Police received approximately 27 reports of unlocked vehicles being entered during the overnight hours on Wednesday, Nov. 18. West Hartford Police also received reports of three vehicles that were stolen during that time.

Stoneburner said that on Thursday (Nov. 19), West Hartford Police Patrol Division located one of the stolen vehicles occupied and arrested Jose Monge at Dan’s Shell, 457 New Park Avenue.
At that same moment, other suspects were seen entering a Volvo that fled Dan’s Shell, according to Stoneburner.

That Volvo was reported stolen to Bloomfield Police and occurred during a rash of car burglaries in Bloomfield on Nov. 19.

Stoneburner said with this information, the West Hartford Police Detective Division’s investigation led to the recovery of all stolen vehicles to include Bloomfield’s stolen vehicle. The investigation also led to the recovery of stolen property from West Hartford and Bloomfield’s car burglaries.
Stoneburner said more arrests are expected pending further investigation.
Monge, 19, of 16 Mahl Ave. Hartford, was arrested on charges of third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.
