West Hartford Police Warn Residents of Recent Burglaries
Police are increasing patrols and reminding residents to lock and secure their property.

In response to a recent string of burglaries, the West Hartford Police Department is sending out extra patrols and reminding residents to lock and secure everything.
Since Nov. 12, there have been eight storage bins burglarized as well as 11 cars, according to police.
In many instances the cars that were burglarized were unlocked. There was one case where a car window was smashed and a briefcase was stolen on Farmington Avenue.

In addition to the storage bin burglaries (which occurred on Farmington Avenue, Prospect Avenue, Shadow Lane, Concord Street, and Vera Street) and the car break-ins, there was a burglary at Federation Square Apartments on Starkel Road in which cash was stolen from a kitchen.
In another burglary, $200 was missing from a register at W.H. Professional Barber Shop on La Salle Road. Police noted that there was no forced entry in that theft.

Police also urge residents to immediately call the police department at (860) 523-5203 if they see anything that’s “not normal.”
