West Hartford Psychiatrist Placed On Probation By State: Report
Two West Hartford doctors were disciplined by the state Medical Examining Board this week.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Two West Hartford doctors were disciplined by the state Medical Examining Board this week, including a psychiatrist who was accused of prescribing excessive doses of Xanax, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.
Kate Farrish of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports Dr. Dale Wallington, a psychiatrist, was fined $7,500, had his medical license reprimanded and placed on probation for 18 months. He was accused of performing an “inadequate diagnosis of the patient and for failing to implement strategies” between 2008 and 2017 to prevent the patient’s abuse of Xanax and Vyvanse, which is used to treat attention deficit disorder, Farrish reports.
Dr. Thomas Knox, a West Hartford cardiologist, also had his medical license reprimanded by the board for failing to maintain appropriate treatment records for a patient in 2015, according to Farrish.
