West Hartford Releases Eversource's Tree-Trimming Schedule

Extensive work is planned throughout town in 2024, with the goal being to minimize power outages in bad weather.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — When the wind blows, tree limbs fall and, unfortunately, the lights go out.

This is why Eversource Energy must go out annually and take down any problem trees and branches ... before they can cause issues.

Recently, both the Town of West Hartford and Eversource released its schedule for tree maintenance operations in West Hertford, wher the power company serves 29,220 customers.

This year, in West Hartford, Eversource will assess and inspect 77.7 miles of overhead distribution lines, including 22.1 miles along the backbone and perform tree work to maximize reliability.

Eversource has provided the town with this year's notice of planned and scheduled vegetation maintenance work in West Hartford. Click on the MAP of streets to view where work will occur.

The planned maintenance will involve the side pruning and selective removal of hazardous trees that are located along or just beyond the edge.

All planned work will be reviewed in advance by the town and all tree removals beyond the limits will be discussed with the property owners.

"We are asking for your cooperation as Eversource performs this important work to keep our town up and running year-round," wrote the town in an announcement.
