West Hartford Residents Honored by Center for Children’s Advocacy
Jessica Hamilton and Jonathan Small honored for providing pro bono representation to Connecticut's immigrant children

The Center for Children’s Advocacy (CCA) recognized Robinson+Cole lawyers Jessica A.R. Hamilton and Jonathan E. Small for providing pro bono representation to Connecticut’s immigrant children during the organization’s Spring for Kids! Champion of Children Awards Gala at Infinity Music Hall in Hartford, Connecticut on May 8, 2018. Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Small are both members of Robinson+Cole’s Insurance + Reinsurance Group.
Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Small were among the lawyers recognized for not only participating in CCA’s special immigrant juvenile status (SIJ) training, which trains attorneys for pro bono representation of undocumented children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned, but for also representing at least one child upon completion of the training. SIJ status allows a child to apply for lawful permanent residence. In addition, Mr. Small helped facilitate one of the trainings hosted at Robinson+Cole’s Hartford office.
Ms. Hamilton focuses her practice on insurance coverage and extra-contractual litigation, as well as high-exposure liability claims and other complex commercial litigation. She is committed to doing pro bono work and currently represents immigrant children in deportation proceedings based upon referrals from Kids In Need of Defense and the Center for Children’s Advocacy.
