West Hartford Residents to Serve as Tour Guides During Kingswood Oxford's Open House on Nov. 8
Hannah and Sasha Bash of West Hartford will conduct tours for prospective families
Hannah and Sasha Bash of West Hartford, a sophomore and junior at Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, can’t wait to show prospective students around the place they consider their second home during the Open House for Middle and Upper School students on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015.
The sisters are two of the carefully chosen Shield & Dragon tour guides who will conduct tours of the beautiful campus located just steps from Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center. The tours will begin after a brief program in Roberts Theater.
The Middle School Open House will take place from 1-3 pm. (Registration begins at 12:30pm in Estes Middle School lobby; to RSVP, visit www.kingswoodoxford.org/MSOpenHouse)

The Upper School Open House will take place from 2-4 pm. (Registration begins at 1:30pm in the lobby of Roberts Theater; to RSVP, visit www.kingswoodoxford.org/USOpenHouse)
“This is the first time we’ve held both the Upper and Middle school open houses on the same day, at staggered times, and we’re excited about the expected energy and opportunities the day will bring,” said Director of Enrollment Management Sharon Gaskin. “The best way to really get to know KO is to visit our campus. During the Open House, prospective families will get to know our faculty, staff, and students and learn more about our dynamic and diverse school community that inspires students to excel in the classroom, in the arts, on the athletic field, and in life.”

Families will be divided into small groups and rotate through “mini-classes” led by KO faculty. In addition, families may also attend presentations about student life, cocurricular activities, college advising, athletics, and creative arts. There will also be opportunities to watch KO students perform short music and drama pieces, as well as to speak with coaches and student athletes.
Current parents and students will be on hand to share details about their KO experiences, and several administrators – including Head of School Dennis Bisgaard, Associate Head and Upper School Director Natalie Demers, and Middle School Director Jane Repp, among others – will be available to meet and talk with families.
Gaskin, Director of Financial Aid Alan Comrie, and Admissions Office staff will also be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the admissions process. Light refreshments will be served.
Families who cannot attend the Open House but wish to apply to KO should visit www.kingswoodoxford.org/apply, or contact the Admissions Office at 860-727-5000 to schedule a tour and interview. Only applications received by Feb. 1, 2016, will be considered for merit scholarships, for which financial need is not a prerequisite.
