West Hartford Sergeant Is 'Police Officer Of Year'
Sgt. Amanda Martin was honored recently by the West Hartford Exchange Club.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — One of West Hartford's finest was honored recently by a local civic group for being the finest of the finest.
West Hartford Police Department Sgt. Amanda Martin was named the 2023 West Hartford Exchange Club Police Officer of the Year, the department announced Monday.
Martin has previously served as a field training officer, school resource officerand is currently a member of the honor guard, peer support team, crisis negotiation team and public information officer team.

"Throughout her career, Sgt. Martin has worked tirelessly to better herself, the WHPD, and the Town of West Hartford," wrote the WHPD. "Thank you for your service."
She joins West Hartford Fire Department apparatus operator Bill Shappert, who was honored by the West Hartford Exchange Club as "Firefighter of the Year" in 2023.
