WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford Superintendent of Schools Tom Moore is leaving the local system to take a position in the Chicago suburbs.

Moore became superintendent in November 2013. Moore notified parents of the move in a letter distributed Friday morning that he’s leaving at the end of this school year.

"The best moments of my life have been spent in this community, which is why it is bittersweet for me to let you all know that at the end of this school year, I will be moving on to a new challenge, in a new place, and will be ending my time as your superintendent,” Moore wrote.
