West Hartford Woman Accused Of Stealing School PTO Funds: Police
The Wolcott Elementary School PTO reported 'financial irregularities' in organization coffers last fall.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A volunteer with a West Hartford elementary school Parent Teacher Organization has been charged with stealing funds from organization coffers.
The West Hartford Police Department said Thursday, March 13, that Jennifer McAdam, 43, of West Hartford, was charged with second-degree larceny and illegal use of a payment card.
Police said she was taken into custody Wednesday, March 12, and has been released after posting $25,000 bond.

She is expected to appear in Hartford Superior Court March 20.
The WHPD did not disclose the amount of money taken from the Wolcott Elementary School PTO, but said the charges stem from a complaint on Nov. 21, 2024, of "financial irregularities and possible misuse of the organization's finances."

"Immediately upon receiving the complaint, an investigation was initiated by the West Hartford Police Detective Division," wrote the WHPD in a release Thursday afternoon.
"After a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was sought charging the suspect, who held a volunteer position with the PTO, with a variety of criminal violations."
McAdam was taken into custody Wednesday after police obtained a warrant for her arrest.
