The project calls for the construction of numerous complete street improvements, including a separated two-way bicycle facility, a two-way left-turn lane, raised landscape medians, enhanced crosswalks, and improved connections to CTfastrak and Trout Brook Trail.
Additionally, the roadway will be resurfaced, and traffic signals will be upgraded.
"Located in the heart of the evolving New Park Avenue corridor, this project will improve safety and mobility while supporting transit-oriented development and fulfilling the town's Complete Streets Policy," wrote the town.
Based on the semi-final design, the project's construction costs are estimated to be $6 million, with state funds providing $3.7 million and the town providing the remaining $2.3 million.
