The West Hartford Symphony Orchestra (WHSO) invites audiences to spend an evening enjoying the 17th annual Pops concert at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main Street, West Hartford on Saturday, May 18th beginning at 7 pm.
Music Director Richard Chiarappa leads the WHSO in a concert featuring some of the most well-known and beloved pieces of Pops music. The concert begins with The Star Spangled Bannerperformed by Kingswood Oxford’s soloist and rising senior Remy McCoy.
Baritone Ray Hardman will be featured in popular works including “The ToreadorSong”fromCarmen, “Some Enchanted Evening” and “This Nearly Was Mine” from South Pacificand “Soliloquy” from Carousel. The WHSO is thrilled to be collaborating with Ray, who has decades of experience singing opera, oratorio, and musical theater.

Most recently, Ray performed as Bass soloist in Faure's “Requiem” with Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus. He has performed lead roles with The Producing Guild, Simsbury Light Opera, and the Theater Guild of Simsbury. Ray studied voice with Yvonne Cianella and Roy Delp as a graduate student at Florida State University and has since participated in art song master classes with notable Baritones Gerard Souzay and William Parker.
